Delegate Plum presented Margaret Thomas of "Margaret's Garden," famed gardener who resides on Lawyers Road, with a Commending Resolution from the Virginia General Assembly for sharing her beautiful, 5-acre garden of irises, daylilies, peonies, and poppies with neighbors, families, school groups, artists, photographers, and the general public since the 1970's.

Governor Timothy M. Kaine signed Delegate Plum's bill to eliminate phosphates in home dishwasher detergent at a special ceremony in the State Capitol. The bill, passed during the 2008 General Assembly session, was based on a research paper written by Kristen Skowronski, constituent and student at Rachel Carson Middle School. Kristen served as a Senate Messenger during the 2008 session. Looking on at right is Senator Mark Herring, who also represents Kristen and her family.
