Delegate Plum presented Margaret Thomas of "Margaret's Garden," famed gardener who resides on Lawyers Road, with a Commending Resolution from the Virginia General Assembly for sharing her beautiful, 5-acre garden of irises, daylilies, peonies, and poppies with neighbors, families, school groups, artists, photographers, and the general public since the 1970's. |

Governor Timothy M. Kaine signed Delegate Plum's bill to eliminate phosphates in home dishwasher detergent at a special ceremony in the State Capitol. The bill, passed during the 2008 General Assembly session, was based on a research paper written by Kristen Skowronski, constituent and student at Rachel Carson Middle School. Kristen served as a Senate Messenger during the 2008 session. Looking on at right is Senator Mark Herring, who also represents Kristen and her family. |
